maybe i'm nuts, but
I've enjoyed On The Road and other books by Kerouac more than just about anything else I've ever read. I don't know if I can explain why. I'm sure it's a combination of things - the way he wrote, what he wrote about, the implications of what he wrote, etc. Happily, I don't have to explain it.
When I type Kerouac's name into a search engine, it becomes evident that lots of other people feel the same as I do about his work. One could say that's just because of hype and publicity, but that could be said for any book from the Bible to The Tommyknockers.
