Final Interrogative

Posted to Poetry

I asked God
to teach me
how to die

amidst the blazing light
all I heard was laughter

felt the ever-scraping faces
of my faults begin to shatter

tectonic equilibrium
in a matter of quakes

body and its sensate double
a pile of bones and rubble

offering up a cloud of dust
to the slightest gust of wind

and from there on

blown through eternity
