Sparkling, flashing, dancing diamonds
Set upon the boughs down bending.
Fast asleep the boughs down bending
Yielding to the crystal sheathing.
Glazy grasses toppled, broken
Lay beneath the weight of winter.
'Neath the weight of winter broken
Fallen to the ground asunder.
The forest sleeps in crystal silence.
Then silence torn, the slumber’s shattered.
Shattered by the crash of arbor.
Then crashes fade, all echoes frozen.
The forest awakes trembling, yawning.
The boughs look up to greet the sunlight.
The boughs look up to drink the warming
And cast away their sparkling burden.
