West Wind

Posted to Poetry

It was in the far and long ago
And in the not to distant future
The good west wind blew up
In the heart of November
A perfect Ozark night
For youthful desires
Strong and deep

On a stone paved road
So black and slippery
She took the night watchman
And my 36 desires
Running wildly into the night
As only rainbows will
Holding strong and deep

She would do the rainbow dance
Shacking shimmering flanks
Flashing her red crimson dress
Leaping fearlessly
On table tops
Cursing the watchman
Humming the wires
Then give in to my hand
Strong and deep
