fractions

a shattered image
the pieces fractured
uncombinable

i see just a small portion of who
you may be in a story i read
it seems there are mosiacs
of your life in everything cracked
or leaking

drop by countless drop
life oozes out
your tears reflect my eyes
do we know each other?

the gulf widens and surrounds
and yet it all seems to fit
you build walls with chinks
so i can see in

just the pages of thoughts
dreams
ideals
to put it together
still leaves only effervescence
just the surface

a riddle
that i may never know
the answer
