Wicked Embrace

Posted to Poetry

through the open window
bright lights shown forth
the silhouette of some beautiful widow
i could barely keep my thoughts to myself

i caught her tear upon my tongue
and felt a river run
down my throat
and into my heart
her sadness did it's part

flailing quietly as i ran
away from the window from which i came
into the field of winter rain
hungry now to feel her pain

depression ate me up inside
to feel her emotions run their course
i came upon a wicked black horse
and a man in cloak that has no face

i felt his frozen wicked embrace
yearning for a stolen lovers soul
i begged him please to let me go
and the last thought
before i was to leave with this faceless man

a widows heart is too much for a mortal man...
