As You Dim

it's been light years of reflecting
birthmarks and other's skin
from the foil i've just been breathing
an asphyxiated sin

by the neck and wings and pinions
i could tell she was a bird
and she peeled away the onions
without every feeling hurt

the ring she handed to me
form a pirate's bolted chest
bore a stone from the main artery
of the fog, no more, no less

i inhale the purple fumes
excreted by her hair
flowers can't be perfumes
just as long as her soul's there

as you dim and take my senses
i shall lay asleep a fraud
a replica of the lenses
that you took away from god
