I am William Carlos Williams' mistress, i swear

just Another, Wayward Leech

Sweet and simple like an apple,
There was nothing worse than biting into you and finding bland fruit.
Nothing to scream about,
Nothing to cry about,
I just smiled and sadly played pretend.
I pretended I had found the sweetest apple in the entire orchard. And ate away…
Until I realized that I would never be full,
That I would never taste what I wanted to savor.
The core exposed, the seeds spit out.
I discarded it like I had never desired it,
And grabbed a luscious pear instead.

Im enjoying the pear, but I must admit
There is just something about how
An apple can be
So simple and sweet.
