you are not Arab in toto... only half, more or less, like so many Americans, you are a 'mongrel' or 'hybrid' if you prefer. But your understanding of the Arab mindset is more acute than most Americans due to that part of your bloodline and your interest in that part of your being.
In reality this whole cultural jig that so many people worldwide grasp onto and hold for life is pretty ridiculous. I say that because we are all, thru our DNA, related to one race - the negroid, homo-sapien that evolved from the jungles of Africa (if we are to trust what science has so-far discovered). That being the case, why do people claim cultural heritages that are time-wise very young considering the 150,000 years that mankind has been on this planet? Back then there were no Chinese, no Arab, no Italians, no Germans or French, etc, etc...
Unfortunately, strong cultural identities seem to be an ego-force that causes so many of the worlds problems. As our world becomes 'smaller' thru travel and technology, there will be an increase of inter-cultural births which will eventually eliminate cultures as we know them today. This is very predominant in the American society, where many offspring of cultures have given birth to a 'new cultural' species (yourself and myself and many, many others included).
