… my friend, Janine, was a “good” girl… she was just a little screwed up….i mean, imagine how my mother felt with her sitting there making goo-goo eyes at my dad? mom used to roll her eyes and shrug her shoulders and walk out of the room because it was blatantly disrespectful… but she still loved Janine in spite of Janine’s persistence in embarrassing herself.

I’d take her out to a bar afterward and listen to her cry about how she didn’t MEAN to cause a scene. It was sad, really.

so, I don’t know exactly why I said what I did but I think it probably has something to do with my memory of a young girl flirting with an old man and pretending she didn’t know she was flirting…

what does this have to do with you? i donno. do you?

just rambling, I guess.

i have some strange stories in my life… sometimes i have to work on sorting them out…

i still think you should be a stand-up comic, lucy… that’s your true calling, i’m pretty sure… you should write down those comedy routines you did for us at the Algonkian and more… you’re a funny gal with a dynamic personality and presence… i’d love to see you use your writing skills in that direction
