Beautiful is extraordinary in beauty (full), and is rare. People that are beautiful (universally) have a unique symmetry of looks, both the right and left side of the face are equal... an unusual thing to happen to a person. Gorgeous is another word that would apply.

Then there are those that are attractive - not quite symmetrically beautiful, but those that are able to attract attention of others due to some uniqueness in their appearance.. maybe the eyes or the way they wear their hair, or how they wear clothes or makeup.

Pretty is not truly beautiful but simply pretty... a quality that may not have a long lasting quality, that may not be quite so pretty as time passes.

Cute is a quality that has a cherub-like look to their face - maybe a nose or cheeks or a smile that brings on a feeling of joy in the beholder. The cuteness may fade over time, like pretty may, but while cute is visible it is admirable.

Hot/hott... a rather new euphemism which used to be referred to as sexy, meaning the appearance excites the flow of blood in a person, a sexual attraction, a desire to make love to, to explore intimately and enjoy as a partner in reality or fantasy.

Well, that's my take on it anyway. It is my guideline in observing people (mostly of the opposite sex) and how I describe the various words.
