teeth and symmetry
when I was 12, my parents took me to an orthodonist to get braces. He checked my facial structure through x-rays and other methods and was quite surprised and rather pleased- I distinctly recall him saying: "You have a perfectly symmetrical face- your face is structurally perfect" which is surprising for people who have crooked teeth, because there is usually a slight deformity or structural glitch in the features or bones
I was so proud of myself, because that year was the only year I was ever confident in myself, and I looked so pretty, since I had grown out of my awkward phase. I actually felt perfect for a while. But then I went under treatment and instead of braces, I got retainers and I remember thinking, if I was so structurally perfect, why was I getting fixed?
