Prolific or semi-prolific?
I have been thinking about this lately in my usual fragmented and abstract manner.
There are prolific artists/writers/musicians who always seem to pump out new stuff.
But I am not a prolific writer. I keep very little of what I write because I feel it's embarrasing/shite/cliched or just bad. The stuff I keep is the stuff I like.
Anyway, my question is really about inspiration but the prolific thing can be included too.
I get inspired in blocks. I will have two days - a week of solid gold easy action inspiration where I will write in a very prolific manner. I can see beauty in everything and write about tumours, deaths, interesting sex and polution, as well as flowers, women, buildings and rivers...
I am a prolific writer in these blocks of inspiration.
Is that normal for artists? Do you find that your inspiration is a little predictable? Today I don't feel inspired, I wasn't inspired yesterday or the day before either. I haven't written much. So I can assume that I'm due an inspiration spurt in the next day or two where I will write like I'm going to die soon and have to get it all out.
Did I make my question clear and concise? I keep forgetting to remember to think.
