I must disagree

Posted to Utterances

that touch is the most vital of the seven senses

smell is the most primal
the organ of smell is actually a part of the brain
about the size of a dime that protrudes into the back of your sinuses
there is no tympanic membrane or eyeball or nerve network or taste buds separating the smell information from your brain
it's firewired there
that's why scents are so powerful even if they are so faint that we are unaware of them.
A scent can trigger a whole mental movie.
