leading degrees offer elsewhere
(minds of their own)
don’t mind at all
no mind can reach
such probing locations

what was clear is blurred
but together we’ll pursue
(without leaving town)
one-horse dive sings off-key
open door policy

and if you stick out your thumb
a friendly driver might just smile
and offer passage all night
