Silence Embraced

Posted to Action Poetry

Gradually, my friend, gradually,
all things come to pass
and ascend eternal to lights and love
or thrive in the ash of the furnace.

Gradually, my friend, gradually,
all things can change
can become beatified or reviled
depending on what the world-will craves.

Gradually, my friend, gradually,
we become ourselves
made in moments of madness,
destabilizations that restore face.

Gradually, my friend, gradually,
the image makes sense
and rapt denial becomes
monstrous exuberance.

Gradually, my friend, gradually,
answers are offered
or questions forgotten
or silence embraced.

Gradually, my friend, gradually,
we encounter and accept grace
and love it, even if only to debase
the one special gift given to the saved

who with friends founder in silence
smiling
awaiting gradual revelations
and undefinable graduations.
