My Thermopylae

Posted to Action Poetry

The Christ cast revolution
in the frame of fraternity,
The Baptist bartered bullets
with the legion and the pharisees,
The crucifix crowned sorrow
and underlined mortality,
As something to be joyous of
and oblivious, receive,
Sentences of pining pleasures,
bleeding rapture beneath black skies;

'oh, my Thermopylae'

The Leviathan fell
for the future of his seed,
and rejected the Absolute's
transfixion with the meat.
In the pantheon conspiracy,
Michael's swinging judgements reigned
upon an upturned face
and betrayed a brother who hungered
for the grace of immortality,
With brothers of the compass four
condemned to be a lie
all deceptions made are
concealed behind his veil of pride;

'oh, my Thermopylae'

When the lines blur
and are resolved in synthesis,
grace and genocide;

'oh, my Thermopylae'
