do a lot of short stories end disappointingly? I recently read three short stories in an anthology of fantasy and science fiction. All three were very captivating and atmospheric, and I was really enjoying them. But the endings were all let-downs. Am I just supposed to bask in the ambiance and then accept a mediocre ending? Maybe I expect too much. One of the stories was Diamond and Darkhorse by Ursula K. LeGuinn. I don't remember the other two authors, but the stories were called The Paper-Thin Garden and You Don't Have To Be Mad.... I don't have the book with me to look up the writer's name.
