bennie said (i think sarcastically) that he didn't know i could write poetry. and i never claim to write "poetry", since my expectations of myself will never allow me to be pleased with my attempts. i'm too much of a perfectionist, and i try too hard.

i'm very, very pleased to receive all of the critique on my work. thank you all for it. i'm glad it wasn't just praise, because you're right, "criticisms help both the poet and the critic in learning how to do this very unnatural act." i, however, simply enjoy connecting with writers and learning their perspective on this form of art.

i want to add that you give very good, straightforward, constructive criticism. it's good to have you here.
