So art with a caveat?

Posted to Poetry and Politics

I know what you mean about hope and a better life. I just have a tough time correlating hope with art in either direction.

Hope can and does exist without art and art can and does exist without hope. The two are mutually exclussive very often. Not that they can't be related. But we're talking about a societal issue aren't we? So taking the issue in the context of ubiquituosness I simply can't see the correlation. I guess the way you're using "art" is just confusing to me, but a hope for a better life isn't at all though. But there are too many examples where the two having nothing to do with each other, yet they both still thrive.

Maybe I'm missing your point. ?
