Very funny stuff! I got a good laugh out of it! :-)

I had a GREAT 4th of July. In fact, the best I've had in YEARS. I was invited to Karen and Curt W's home (our second cousins)Larry and Paul were there, and so was Great Aunt Ruth. Curt and Karen had also invited some close friends of theirs. There were cute little kids running around everywhere having fun, and all the generations in between were represented. They just had a good old-fashioned simple barbeque, altho some of us had tofu-burgers. And because this is NOT California, there were fireworks, and sparklers and "snakes" -- things I have not seen since I was a little kid. The entire town of Parker was alight with home-lit fireworks when I left their house at around 9:00 PM. and when I got to my house, there were more fireworks everywhere, up and down my street. My next-door neighbors grabbed me and made me a couple margaritas and we just sat and watched the fireworks for the next two hours. It was almost like a block-party. Not quite, but almost. This is the kind of place where we could actually HAVE a block party.

I do NOT miss CA, at ALL! Yuck, too-ey. People are NICE here. And life is NORMAL. You know? Just NORMAL, like when I was a little kid. I don't know how long that is going to last here, because of the building boom, but for now, it's great ...
