If God was your next door neighbor.

Posted to Poetry

If God was your next door neighbor
would you borrow a cup of tea
complain of loud parties at midnight
put in a good word for me?

If God drove a taxi on Sunday
would you pick up a ride to the store
buy me a pack of cigarettes
wave at the obstinate poor?

What if Gods bored with this business
of watching the same old show
and retires to a beach in Miami
would anyone really know?

I don't really have any answers
to the problems academics yearn for.
Gods certainly a reasonable concept
a nebulous name on a door.
