I cried, as I heard your heart breaking
Through a telephone line
And I didn't think of way back when
I thought about my aching friend
Who feels as if he somehow deserves this
But as I realized, you didn't
It made me long to tell you
Don't let it fuel you
Into something you'll regret
See it as an opened window
One I won't cast any stones at
Because I have been there
More times than I long to admit
And I am sorry for your heart that's aching
Seize this day as discovery
and appreciate the fact that I had the
opportunity to win today
Instead I hold your hand, and help you grieve
