in the other direction. Examples of multi-lateralism aren't few in number by any means. But even before that, as if unilateralism is somehow a bad thing. Hegemony? By whose definition? Compared to who, the Romans? Preemptive? Again, as if this is bad by definition. As if it's all we ever do. And what qualifies as preemptive? I bet the author is using a nice 14mm wide angled lens for that one.
In my view the author state the exception as if it were the rule. But then you can't figure out what's right or wrong without the necessary caveats in place.
