You seem to be saying that liberal viewpoints are necessarily academic, while the "real world" is fundamentally conducive to a conservative viewpoint. Is that accurate? If so, then what is it about the "real world" that these "intellectuals" are missing?
What about liberals outside of the academic environment? Are they also not in the "real world"? If such opposing perceptions exist, then what validates reality?
Perhaps this might be illustrative: In your 7/11 scenario, what specific viewpoints would you expect a person to derive from these circumstances?
