Dark Death

Posted to Poetry

I am dying, I can feel it
Feel it in between my toes;
There’s a dark death that follows me,
And it flows from where life goes.

All desires, all my wishes
Are scattered in the breeze -
They are scattered, scattered truly,
Across dark lands and forgotten seas.

And you too, my lovely,
Are a wind before a fall -
I will leave behind the earthly things
That once held me in thrall;

And until that fateful day
When the darkness shall be mine,
I will feel the dark death dying,
Dying out from every line.
