because of the reference to this apple in the bible, the apple as a symbol in literature has taken on this great sexuality--i use apples in my poetry often. the tight skin....the juicy soft under the shiny smooth deep red...and the fertility--which is the flesh we sink our teeth into--god i love that shit. a banana can't do that for me. no way. apple, banana, yada yada. it makes for good readin' and writin'...apples have been used as this great parallel for sexuality ALL BECAUSE of it's reference in the bible. i'm going with it.
