i never really thought about that one. i doubt though, that eve was supposed to be allowed to eat the fruit and adam wasn't, since both of them got booted from eden. i took a class on renaissance women's literature once, and i was amazed by the amount of male writing that attacked women based on the whole adam/eve story (that women writers spent a good deal of time defending themselves against).
