I think you can say someone was a beatnik before the beatniks...and old Willy certainly was one. Maybe we should call all such folk protobeats. There's a study now going on re: some clay pipes found at his place, being tested for THC. Seems, just like our founding fathers here, the Bard may have been smoking the good herb...Certainly looking at his work you can find evidence of knowledge of or even experience with psychadelics.
