Moby-Dick v. Lord Grizzly
Moby-Dick is incredible. But make sure to read it looking for metaphors of duality and sexuality and the condition of the human mind or else it's just a long rambling boat story. Moby-Dick is a great read, full of surprising humor and a lot of passages that make you stop and read them again, they're that damn good.
Lord Grizzly is all right. It kind of reads like a big machoman fantasy (indian women rubbing bear oil on his back, etc.) and it only gets really good after Hugh gets mauled by a bear (!) but it's not bad.
Try Moby-Dick. You'll like it.
