I'm about 2/3 of the way done with the piece. The thing is I'm having a real hard time keeping it short. I'm guessing it will be around the length of the Mayakovsky piece I wrote (that's what I'm shooting for). But instead of one long piece, I've divided it up into five different sections with Thompson-esque headings.
The question in my mind though is if there's something unique you can do with the piece once it's done. After all, HST is the last writer from that era who is still vital today (apologies to Ferlinghetti, et al). Images? Links? I don't know, but as I've been working on it, that's what I've been thinking about. It seems like he deserves some weight. Plus the fact the son-of-a-bitch is still alive and will probably see this and could come after us!
