I’ll let you in

If I hear you knock,
with the rain outside
I’ll open up
and let you hide
beneath the sheets
within my warmth
my lips on your face
your hands on my heart

It’s cold outside
and I’m alone
I’ll take you in
and cover your soul
I’ll soothe your chills
and make you my own
there’s so much room
inside of me
I’m all yours–don’t you see?

Just knock on my door
it doesn’t matter how late
I’ll light candles
in your cold wake
Silent and illuminated
I’m yours to take
I’ll bring you in and hold you near
I’m up waiting up for you
–forever, my dear.
