seasons come, seasons go
though this is the longest
chilling straight, all this cold
pierced what is left
a farewell of dust and dusk
lengthy embrace, i wish to continue
intimate exchanges instantly separated by phantoms of clouds
i watch pillars crumble, icicles form
frozen landscapes define what i was
static horizons filled with remnants
visions of before, so lucid, chilling
shadows of ships sinking
memories collide on waves so blue
bleaching faded photographs
faces no longer there
silhouettes of words, more precious than roses
warmth, substance, such a closeness
that only lasts while being read
disappearing with a turn of the page
shadow play of the mind, blindness with even the slightest touch, tenderness i yearn so much
dissolving tears
the rapid decline of fears
as feeling fades, paper yellows
words crumble away
the evacuation of ghosts
pouring through my mouth
