wore the same (5)
worn-out woolen suits
week after week

the insufferable kids
sitting smugly behind
their little desks
carved with ‘1983’

and six hearts pierced
by phallic shafts
disguised as arrows
feathered by eros himself

they laughed and made fun
of arthur burrows looks
…eros had passed him by
