I walked between the dark of night <<-- great line
and the houses hoping up with light as guests arrived
is this what you meant to write on the second line (hoping ?)

anyway i assume this is a biographical recount when do you recount to write it how soon after ? do you take ever take notes (or do you make mental notes as you see things) Or does it just flow back as you write it ?
