I can pretend like you
that I don’t exist
like everything
is all made up
and yes
I may be make believe
and I maybe
might be
godless
and as far as I can see
to me
I just might maybe be
everything
a sky
clouded
dirty
like you could never clean
and unlike you
I’m behind me
and yes
I can pretend
I’m thought up by lonely want
and don’t you believe
at all
although I know
you want me too
be make believe
like you
and doesn’t this end
and isn’t this something
if you’ve ever considered this
then maybe we’re never
as real
as when we pretend
