I’ve never done a love poem before, I normally stick to the darker stuff, as it’s where I spend most of my time. Any opinions gratefully accepted…

AN ELEGY

The woman I love
is not yet a woman.
For I am not yet a man.

She is warm and soft
and gentle
She melts the ice of my heart,
she takes it with both
her hands
and holds it close.
She draws it near and
breathes life into the cold
and the dark
and she awakens fire
and light.

I fall into her eyes
and through her
and she falls through
me and mine.
For all of time.
