The Biggest Crisis

is not wars, disease or famine of the human race
but the fact that there is not enough room for
grey wolves or grizzlies in our midst
we are populating the world at an alarming rate
leaving the rest of nature out of the mix
our greed for more and more and still more of us
is melting the glaciers, deforesting the rain forest
changing the face of our natural selves
and all that live amongst us
no room for the cheeta
no place for the migrating monarchs
no clear sky for the peregrine
we go on our merry or not so merry way ‘thinking’
we are the be all and the highest of the high
until nothing else is left of the real beauty
exisitence is besmirched and battered
Mother Nature has a way of taking care of things
I hear another metorite is on it’s way
and perhaps the cockroaches will rise up
scuttle to the head of the class
bringing with them the true nature of
this…our fragile world.
