One of my favorites. They were shipping the humans to Mars to work (they thought on a colony) The scientist had only managed to translate the title of the book, How To Serve Mankind, and two of them were going with many others to learn (so they thought) from the aliens for the good of humanity. It was Martians I think. And the researcher who stayed behind caught up with them as they were about to board the ship and blast off and yelled ” Sir, Sir, we managed to translate the remainder of the text. IT’S A COOKBOOK!”
It was too late and they had to get on the ship.
