for the first bust, the judge called him a “Tarnished Galahad”, Kesey, not expecting any leinency, fled to Mexico and stayed there for nine months. He came back across the border in the fall of ’66 on HORSEBACK with a guitar slung across his back. He told customs people he was Singing Jimmy Anglund, an entertainer from Las Vegas, and he had the i.d. to prove it. He imediately returned up to the Bay Area where he raised all kinds of hell on the radio and at clandestine gatherings til he got popped and had to go do his time.
