jim morrison…american prayer/american poet

i am very curious to see what people think of the poetry to music album “american prayer” it isn’t new, but i got to discussing it with my prof and well, what do ya’ll think…is jim morrison a poet in league with michael mcclure, allen grinsberg? forget what you know of his “rock star” status…and focus on the words…did he use them well? are they well woven, descriptive, narrative…etc…thanks..
