every book

there ever was

you’ve asked and answered

every question

just because

raised a family of innocents
earned every dime you’ve ever spent
what’s important to you now

you’ve lost each and every affiliation
mulled and throttled insatiation
thanked providence for a wealthy nation
still as you lie in this bed of guilt
your life has ceased this turn’s on tilt
the flicker of vim is fading fast
wonder which hale will be your last
