Free is OK, but if you need to rebuild from a disk crash, virus attack, or something it’s nice to own the software, especially something as fundamental as the word processor. If you’re a student or any kind of academic look for academic versions, they’re usually about half price. (You don’t have to get the whole suite, you can just get the word processor for a lesser price.)
WordPerfect is still better than MS Word, and cheaper, the only problem is having to convert WP files to Word when you send them to the rest of the MicroSatan slave world, & vice versa.
