listen babe, it’s like this… it’s not a matter of “discerning truth from unpleasant situations”. If the author’s style bores me with his presentation of copping dope and shooting it up it’s because i find the topic boring, as you agreed, i can’t help it. We all have different tastes. I said i TRIED to read the books but i never got through them, so if i missed some underlying messages of “truth”, i guess i missed it. It’s not worth it to me to try to dig through text when i find it poorly written and boring.

Your BillyB in Pookah Papers is MUCH more interesting. Sure, there is the theme of drug abuse running through but there’s also a PLOT about the Poet’s life, the underground, and the relationships between the characters run deeper than simple drug partners. BillyB expounds on his life philosophy and it’s all very interesting.

You’re a better writer than Burroughs. Much better.
