I’m stuck in the midwest. I definetly want to leave, find somewhere busy and intimidating, live a little more than I could in this haven of small towns… You are right though. I don’t mean to sound so negative and judgemental. I just had one of those conversations with a friend. (Showed him something I worked on for a while, was proud of, and he said something along the lines of, “Yeah, well, I don’t see what the big deal is. I mean, I could write if I tried. Anyone could, really.”) I do know that there are a lot of people like me and that sometimes I encounter them. I’d like to hope that I take them as seriously as I hope to be taken in my writing. But who knows. Meh. It’s a hard line to walk.
