TEXAS and minor cover-ups.

I am from Texas. For those of you that are not from the USA, Texas is traditionally known as a conservative state. It is ruled by oil and cattle money. Having said that, the cities of Austin and Houston are becoming more and more diverse, in terms of people from other countries; therefore, making those cities a bit more liberal than the oil/cattle guys would like them to be.

When I lived in Austin, my house was about an 8 minute bike ride from George Jr.’s Governor Mansion. One day, about 2 and a half years ago, my roomate and I were out cycling. On our way home, we were coming through downtown (Where the mansion is) and heard on our Walkmans that there was “an injury accident at 10th Street and Lavaca.” The radio strongly suggested that people avoid that area at all costs.

We figured that we would ride by and do a bit of ‘rubbernecking’. What we came across was a massive protest of Bush and how he was running the state of Texas. He/the oil guys had control of the radio. They controled the media. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I was a bit unsettled.

So, if Bush and his constituents can control a radio station in Texas, then what are he and his buddies capable of doing on a national and global level.

This story is true. It is not some ranting of an anti-Bush person. I just figured I would let you know about a disturbing instance I was lucky enough to experience.
